Arjun has a dream of playing for India, but things do not go the way he wants. Even after having a strong record in domestic cricket, he never gets the chance to play for the Indian team. Because of this, he leaves cricket at the age of 26.

After leaving cricket, Arjun starts living a simple life. He works for the Food Corporation of India and lives with his wife Vidya and son Kittu. His life changes when Kittu asks him for an Indian cricket team jersey as a birthday gift.

That small request brings back Arjun’s old dream. He decides to return to cricket at the age of 36. After being away from the game for about ten years, he starts training again and tries to make a place for himself in cricket.

Although the story is fictional, real cricket tales inspire several parts of it. Cricket enthusiasts most often link Raman Lamba and Pravin Tambe with Arjun’s story. However, Jersey is not the life story of either player.

The simple answer is no, Arjun Talwar is not a real cricketer.

However, his story has some links with real players. The two names that are often connected with the character are Raman Lamba and Pravin Tambe.

Raman Lamba was a real domestic cricketer from Delhi. In the 1996–97 Ranji Trophy season, he scored 1,034 runs at the age of 36.

Lamba later died in 1998 after being hit on the head by a cricket ball while fielding during a match in Bangladesh.

Pravin Tambe is another name connected with the story. Tambe became famous for making his IPL debut at the age of 41. His journey showed that a person could still get a big chance in cricket later in life.

These real stories helped give ideas to the fictional character of Arjun Talwar. But the movie is not a biopic of Raman Lamba or Pravin Tambe.

Still, his relationship with Vidya remains an important part of the movie. His cricket comeback is not just about his own dream. It also affects his wife and son.

Arjun Talwar Death

In the movie, Arjun dies at the age of 36 because of a heart condition.

This is a fictional death. There is no real cricketer named Arjun Talwar who died in this way.

Viewers must not confuse the movie’s ending with the real death of Raman Lamba. Lamba died after a cricket ball struck him while he fielded in Bangladesh.
